“Anthea Greyling”

21" x 6" x 2.5"

Assemblage

$225 SOLD

Anthea is a combination of the friend you’re not allowed to sit next to at a serious function and the friend who would give you a kidney. One minute she’s telling you a joke and the next, she’s helping your daughter with her physics. She always says, “Your time on Earth is limited. Don’t try to “age with grace”, age with mischief, audacity and a good story to tell.” Because we’ve known her, we’ve been changed for good. Be like Anthea.

Can you spot: vintage pin, cocktail forks, earring, tart tins, knitting needles, charms, gourd?

“Beer Fairy Gretchen”

17" x 7" x 5"

Assemblage

$225

The Beer Fairies, BeerHilde and Gretchen, are the life of all parties they attend. Apparently, their superpower is turning water into beer; they are in high demand for the summer holidays as well as Super Bowl Sunday. They recently started their own brewing and bottling company that makes beer out of recycled shower water. Well, at least it is environmentally friendly! Cute stein and bird, huh?

Can you spot: cake servers, vintage spools, tart tins, strainer, gourd?

“Bunny's Dance All Night Shoes”

20" x 10" x 3"

Assemblage

$295

“Misbehavior can be a lot of fun if you embrace it”. That’s Bunny’s life philosophy. She has an unfortunate knack for creating chaos out of the most innocuous of things. Tonight she and her beau Prescott are going dancing and will drink Jabberwock Sours out of each other’s glasses.

Look for: cocktail forks, drumsticks, tart tin, gourd, tatting shuttles.

“Chocolate Lulu LaDuc”

18" x 11" x 2"

Assemblage

$250

Lulu the Chocolate Fairy (now there’s a superpower I wish I had) distributes delicious French chocolates to unsuspecting recipients in Paris. Her wings make it easy to travel to her beneficiary and quickly fly away – yes, it’s a little creepy, but it works for her! She carries them in that adorable (expandable) handbag. Lulu loves her job and hopes it never ends, but if it does – she has a Plan B. Stay tuned for that…..

Look for: cocktail forks, vintage pin, gourd, earring, drumsticks, vintage tart tin.

“Clarisse”

20" x 9" x 8"

Assemblage

$350

Clarisse has managed the Parisian parfumerie Christian Louis for years. Her favorite scent is Fleur d'Argrumes with its unspoilt scents of Neroli and bitter orange, captured between the pages of a forgotten book. Jacques, her well-behaved poodle accompanies her to work, and she secretly believes that he’s the key to her success. Why the Australian stamp, you ask? Her Parisian Grand-mère met her Australian PopPop in WWII, and the rest as they say, c'est l'histoire.

Look for: vintage spools, tart tins, a gourd, cocktail forks, souvenir clogs.

“Dapper Dan”

20" x 8" x 9"

Assemblage

$295 SOLD

Dan loves golf – boy, does he love golf! He’s getting married today and he’s trying to squeeze in nine holes before the ceremony. He was accompanied on his round today by the course mascot, Waddles. Making the ceremony will be tight, but he’s determined to make it work. Then, the high point of the day will be when he gets to marry his best friend. Go Dan!

Can you spot: cocktail fork, ice tongs, vintage tart tins, sink strainer, button, salt shaker, gourd.

“Darla deLancie”

14" x 5" x 2"

Assemblage

$225

Darla is a combination of the friend you’re not allowed to sit next to at a serious function and the friend who would give you a kidney. One minute she’s telling you a joke and the next, she’s helping your daughter with her physics. She always says, “Your time on Earth is limited. Don’t try to “age with grace”, age with mischief, audacity and a good story to tell.”

Can you spot: chopsticks, tart tins, cocktail forks, vintage button, gourd?

“Davey The Woodsman”

18.5" x 7" x 6"

Assemblage

$250

Davey has always loved the solitude of the forest and when he’s there, he feels one with nature. Walking in the forest, he becomes immersed in the sights, sounds, and rhythms of the natural world. For him, one of the most profound aspects of the forest is its ability to foster a deep sense of connection with the environment. Davey’s brothers used to call him Paul Bunyan (he is pretty tall), which he took with his usual good humor. His constant companion is his beloved bird, Goose Springsteen .

Can you spot: a gourd, tart tins, parts of a vintage hookah?

“Dessert Fairy”

17" x 11" x 4"

Assemblage

$250

Hester is a secret dessert fairy, which is a deeply stressful job for someone with severe lactose intolerance and zero portion control. While the human world sleeps, she flies from kitchen to kitchen, swapping sad, low-carb celery sticks for decadent, multi-layered fudge cakes. Her hands are permanently sticky from caramel residue, and her wings smell faintly of burnt marshmallows and rebellion. She is currently on the run from the Dental Hygiene Guild, but she refuses to stop her midnight raids.

Look for: straws, cocktail forks, gourd, vintage tart tins.

“Edith DeHaviland”

27" x 9" x 8"

Assemblage

$450

It’s birthday lunch day for Edie and Grandma Julia. Older sister Lillian is away for the day so Edie has “borrowed” her sunglasses (she adheres to her sister’s borrowing rules very badly). Yes they’re a little big, but she’s sure that she’ll be the coolest person in the restaurant. Her affectionate duck Waddles is her constant companion and loves wearing her crown everywhere. Grandma has confirmed that Waddles is allowed on the restaurant patio, so Edie is hopping excited for her favorite part of the meal – dessert.

Can you spot: vintage ashtrays, salt shaker, industrial spools, Jello mold, ice tongs, candy dish, gourd?

“Eloise Barnum”

26" x 12" x 10"

Assemblage

$450

Eloise Barnum (yes, that Barnum family) is ringmaster as well as the owner and artistic director of her new animal-free circus. Her circus is an interactive, personfocused show that not only displays the amazing things humans can do, but also highlights their individual stories (kind of a Cirque du Soleil meets America’s Got Talent). Her dress acknowledges her family’s past, but her new direction embraces benevolence and compassion. And as the circus queen, she’s ready to greet us all.

Look for: vintage bowls, salt shaker, candle holder, cocktail forks, gourd.

“Fisher Ginger”

17" x 5" x 9"

Assemblage

$225

Ginger has come unwillingly to fishing. For years, she has listened to her husband Scotchy speak lovingly about the sport. How when he fishes, he becomes one with nature and blah, blah, blah. She always told him, “I’m not an outdoor person. I’m more of a shopping person.” Well, last spring Ginger finally convinced Scotchy to go to the Netherlands to see the tulips (she got her clogs on one of her shopping excursions). The deal she made with him is that this year they would go to the Caribbean on a fishing trip. That brings us to today and explains the red snapper on her line! In the process of catching that beauty, Ginger found that she really is an outdoor person and is now enthusiastically planning their next fishing trip, with some shopping time on the side!

Can you spot: knitting needles, tart tins, earring, curtain tie pin, gourd, cocktail forks?

“Giesela Burgdorf”

14" x 4.5" x 4.5"

Assemblage

$195

Giesela is a mycologist (a biologist who specializes in the study of fungi) and loves teaching mushroom identification and safety to new foragers at the local mushroom club. Her fungi love and enthusiasm has encouraged dozens of people to explore the woods with new eyes. Here, she’s showing you the newest specimen from today’s collection.

Look for: vintage button, earring, chopsticks, cocktail forks, gourd, vintage tart tins.

“Healer”

14" x 6" x 1.5"

Assemblage

$195

Since she was a wee lass, Fenella has wanted to help people. When she was five, she overheard her Mam tell Aunt Elspeth after a particularly exhausting day, “Sometimes a massage is the only thing that makes sense”. That comment sparked something deep inside her and she began practicing massage techniques on her dolls, then her dog Fergus, and finally on Mam. When she graduated high school, Mam and Da were thrilled with her acceptance to The Glasgow School of Massage. She believes in her heart that massage is the study of anatomy in braille and loves her career.

Look for: steamer parts, a gourd, tart tins, cocktail fork, a gourd, vintage earring, vintage silk thread spools.

“Jordan”

12.5" x 6.5" x 6"

Assemblage

$325

As he grew, he realized that the power of the ocean could be used for fun and became a dedicated surfer. Using his engineering skills and creativity, he designed and built his own surfboard. And his constant companion is his pet frog, UnderToad.

Look for: a gourd, pastry brush, forks, clothespins.

“Kennesey Montague”

She’s very close to Nana who taught her how to garden, cook and laugh. Nana always tells her, ”The most wasted day of all is one in which we have not laughed!” She also tells her, ”Life is short. Wear cute shoes.”

Can you spot : a gourd, knitting needles, cocktail forks, tart tins, shoe earrings?

Can you spot: vintage pin, tart tins, knitting needles, charms, vintage bracelet part, vintage cocktail forks, gourd?

“Loelia Ponsonbury”

Can you spot: knitting needles, tart tins, cocktail forks, vintage pin, gourd?

“Madeline Frobisher”

16" x 6" x 2"

Assemblage

$190

Madeline is a real girly girl who loves the beach. You’d never know from the way she’s dressed today (going shopping with pals Janie and Kathy), but she’s an expert surfer and gives everyone in and out of the water a run for their money. When you ask for her favorite surfing memory, she’s quick to answer that it’s the time she rescued a sea turtle from a fishing net. She has seen him again and he’s introduced her to his mate (she knows it’s him because of the scar left by the net) and now is very protective of their nesting area. Thank you, Madeline.

Look for: chopsticks earring shoes, vintage sugar tongs, tart tins

“Marie Antionette”

31" x 22" x 15"

Assemblage

$700

Hi there, I’m Marie Antoinette, history’s ultimate influencer, though my comment section got a bit out of hand. I traded Austria for France at fourteen, fully expecting a life of high fashion, massive updos featuring actual model ships, and zero accountability. Did I actually say "Let them eat cake"? Absolutely not—brioche is way better anyway—but try telling that to a mob of hangry revolutionaries. Sure, my gambling habits were a bit extra and my husband was more interested in locksmithing than me, but honestly, losing my head over a budget deficit seems incredibly dramatic.

Look for: light fixture, hangers, gourd, salad bowl, door knobs, bundt pan.

“Mei”

8.5" x 5" x 3"

Assemblage

$175

Mei’s mother was the Japanese ambassador to Mexico when she was born, so she was raised in two cultures, embracing them both. Her geta sandals were made in Guanajuato by a master wood worker, Alejandro, who gets a small thrill every time Mei walks in wearing his creation.

Can you spot : cocktail forks, clothespins, earring, a gourd, tart tins?

“Miss Maggie Monroe”

14" x 5" x 2.5"

Assemblage

$170

Little Miss Maggie’s parents marvel at how she glides through life, unscathed by whatever is happening around her. They jokingly say that she doesn’t suffer from stress, rather she’s a carrier of it. Her philosophy is if you’re going to walk on thin ice, you may as well dance.

Look for: knitting needles, shoe charms, cocktail forks, tart tins, earring, gourd.

“Never Underestimate the Power of Red Shoes”

25" x 10" x 10"

Assemblage

$450

After the tornado, Dorothy left Kansas and headed west till she saw the Pacific Ocean. California was all she dreamed it would be, so she looked around and found a job with Rexall. Her pluck, spunk, and bravery (not to mention her red sequin shoes) helped her move up the corporate ladder and endear her to her employees. She still returns to Kansas to visit Auntie Em and Uncle Henry. And Toto, too.

Can you spot: vintage industrial spools, jello mold, tart tins, sugar tongs, strainer, gourd?

“Olivia Of The Royal Ballet”

15" x 6" x 4"

Assemblage

$195

Dan loves golf – boy, does he love golf! He’s getting married today and he’s trying to sOlivia was born in Kingston upon Thames and began dancing at age two, trained locally, then joined The Royal Ballet School (White Lodge and Upper School) when she was ten. Her mother Emma was a lady in waiting to Queen Elizabeth, so she may have had a leg up (pun intended) on the Ballet School’s admission. Her early performances as Sara Crewe in A Little Princess for London Children’s Ballet and in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on the West End gave her a taste for the limelight that she still loves to this day. Go Olivia.

Can you spot: cocktail forks, chopsticks, tiny strainer, steamer parts, a gourd?

“Pauline Pecksniff”

13” x 3” x 2.5"

Assemblage

$225

Pauline is a little wisp of a thing; barely heavier than the shadow she casts. She adheres to rules very badly and is never afraid to try something new. “Remember”, she’ll tell you, “A lone amateur built the Ark, a group of professionals built the Titanic.” Today, she’s dressed for a party that is certain to be noisy – and fun.

Look for: vintage earring, skewers, tart tins, gourd.

“Peachy Deveraux”

16.5” x 3” x 3"

Assemblage

$225

Peachy has a serene soul with a smile on it. A mutual friend once said about her, “Meeting her is like opening your first bottle of champagne and knowing her is like drinking it.” She’s the one friends call when they need advice, to be heard or just hugged. She’s always the level-headed one in the room. Well, except the time she ran off to Fiji with Fritz, the police dog handler. “He thought I hung the moon”, she says. “It’s hard to resist someone who thinks you hung the moon.”

Can you spot: vintage coctail forks, knitting needles, tart tins, shoe button, gourd.

“Phillipa”

12" x 4" x 2"

Assemblage

$190 SOLD

Phillipa, or Pip as she is sometimes called, has a cold today, but she’s still feeling creative. She's begun making her own clothes and her Gramma told her that when she was Pip’s age, she had a poodle skirt. Well, that gave Pip an idea. She likes frogs, so she made herself a frog skirt, and Gramma thought that was a smashing idea. (In fairness, Gramma thinks that everything Pip does is smashing, but that’s because she’s Gramma).

Can you spot: frog button, earring, colored pencils, a gourd, tart tins?

“Pixie Applegate”

18” x 4.5” x 3"

Assemblage

$225

Pixie should come with a warning that she has an attitude and knows how to use it! She believes that a girl can never have too many shoes, purses or friends. She says, “I understand the concept of cooking and cleaning, just not as it applies to me.” Say what you want about her though, she's a loyal friend and is the one you can call to bail you out or take you to the ER.

“Portia McFadden”

14" x 6.5" x 6.5"

Assemblage

$250

Portia always dreamed of being a dancer. One day she put on her cowboy boots, grabbed her pet pig Hamlet and ran off to join the Folies, never looking back. However, Lucca who was left behind in their village still pines for her after all these years.

Look for: vintage knife handles, salt and pepper shakers, vintage tart tins, sugar tongs, gourd, vintage earring.

“Princess Zara”

20.5" x 10" x 9"

Assemblage

$325

HRH Zara considers herself a citizen of the world and travels tirelessly supporting the royal family’s many charities and causes. Why, just last week she was in Australia judging a fly-fishing competition; the week before, she was in India, cheering the national cricket team to victory, winning the Cricket World Cup. P.S. When I was cleaning her shoes, I found the date 1942 stamped inside! A sweet reminder of another era.

Can you spot: strainer, ice tongs, vintage spools, gourd?

“Prudence Vergera"”

15" x 4" x 2"

Assemblage

$225

Assemblage

$225

Querida is dressed for a night on the town with her dreamy beau, Thad. She knows he’s the one and she’ll say, “Yes, yes, yes.

Look for: vintage button, cocktail forks, tart tins, chopsticks, gourd.

“Reese McClure”

13" x 5" x 5"

Assemblage

$250

Like her older cousin Jordan, Reese is a water sport enthusiast. She learned to snorkel when she was young so she could hang out with the “big cousins” on their annual family beach holidays. Building sandcastles, burying each other in sand and snorkeling are their favorite activities. On the last vacation there was a turtle who kept appearing on the beach, so they named him Yertle. That’s him by her feet.

Look for: knitting needles, sugar tongs, tart tin, gourd.

“Rosie”

14" x 8" x 6"

Assemblage

$190 SOLD

Dressed for lunch and a day of shopping, Rosie is outfitted in the height of 1954 fashion. She took the train into the City to meet her partner in crime and best friend since grade school, Margaret. Her Christian Dior inspired dress (that she made) and her real Jacques Fath hat have uplifted her spirits as she makes a mental note of all the places they will visit in her quest for a new purse, because they are easy to “try on”. She settled for a lovely bag (it was on sale) at Lord & Taylor. At the end of the day, she and Margaret plotted their next adventure - traveling to Austria to base jump in a wingsuit. Yeah, there’s that side of them.

Look for: cocktail forks, a gourd, vintage industrial spools, candy dish.

“Tavia Ravenshaw”

18" x 6" x 6"

Assemblage

$250

Tavia and her pooch “Prince of Barkness” are out for dinner with their beloved Aunt Vera. They chose Trader Vic’s for the lovely cocktail selection and after Aunt Vera’s fourth mai tai, Tavia swiped the drink umbrella because it she thought it was “darling”. When her aunt protested, Tavia said, “Shhh. You’re slurring your words”, to which Aunt Vera replied, “I’m not slurring my words. I’m talking in cursive”. OK. Time to call a taxi.

Can you spot: drumsticks, salt and pepper shakers, tart tins, cocktail forks, vintage earring, gourd?

“Venetia Hargreaves”

14" x 5" x 6"

Assemblage

$250

Venetia dresses like the art she creates: elegant, distinctive and creative. She’s frequently asked how she gets her ideas and inspiration and her response explains, “I don't have a secret room where I have all these ideas on shelves, where I can go in and pick one. It doesn't work that way. I paint something because I have an idea or an image in my mind and I feel it must be fulfilled. It is as if it’s knocking on my door asking to be let out. It wants to become real”. Her constant studio companion Oscar the Pooch is less guard dog and more party host. He is well-compensated with ear scratches and belly rubs.

Can you spot: an earring (or two), vintage cocktail forks, tart tins, gourd, chopsticks.
